With my new found role at work I have not had a lot of time to play in the creative space. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job and I love what I do, but it’s nice to step into the creative side of things every once in a while to keep that side of my brain fresh.

It was also really nice to do a little coding and a little playing around with WordPress to keep my skills up to date. I recently purchased Chris Coyier’s “Digging Into WordPress” and it was really fun to put a lot of what I learned into practice on this site.

It was also the first time I have ever used CSS Sprites. I can’t wait to use them more extensively on my next project. All of the navigation images pulled from this single image, cutting down on load time, and making for a much more responsive effect.

To give a little background on the site itself, both Jared and I realized that life at UpperRoom has led to a quickly expanding waist line. After going from 250lbs to 185lbs I quickly put on about 20lbs. So, in typical Jared and Jeremy fashion we decided we should have a competition. That opportunity coupled with the Thanksgiving break led to what turned out to be a great collaborative project.

So without further adieu I would like to introduce you to http://jaredvsjeremy.com:
